The Digit Adding Plan of Telephone Numbers comes to an end smoothly

The Government of Macao Special Administrative Region has implemented the Digit Adding Plan of Telephone Numbers, in phases, since October 1, 2006. Along these two years, with the joint efforts of the Government, public and operators, the Digit Adding Plan of Telephone Numbers finally came to an end smoothly. The voice prompts for the incorrect dialling 7-digits telephone numbers of DDI service will terminate on December 31, 2008.

At present, telephone numbers are 8 digits in length. The initial digit(s) for dialling commercial and residential telephone as well as fax numbers are “28”, for mobile telephone numbers is “6” and for DDI numbers is “8”.
